Out in Vancouver: April 9–16, 2015

Choice events in the city this week

Thurs, April 9

The Book of Mormon

What gay guy hasn’t fantasized about banging the hot, Bible-thumping, door-to-door duo that wakes him up early on a Saturday morning? This religious musical satire from the creators of South Park should bring those feelings flooding back as you follow the journey of two young, naïve and perky missionaries as they realize they’re about to get more than they bargained for. 8pm. Queen Elizabeth Theatre, 600 Hamilton St. Tickets $51–119 at ticketmaster.ca. Show runs until Sun, April 12.

Sat, April 11

Sin City Perverted Carnival

What can I say about a perverted circus fetish night that isn’t already popping into your head as you read this? For me, it’s getting one of those scary clowns in the dungeon, dropping gear and showing him what scary really means. Billed as one of the largest Sin City parties of the year, it has its usual strict fetish code, dungeons, play areas, DJs, dancing and a whole lot more. 9pm-2am. The Hindenburg, 23 West Cordova St. Tickets $15 at door if available, or ticketzone.com. Click here on Facebook for more information.

Sun, April 12

Get Nude: Sketch Nudes

This event brings to mind the uncontrollable and noticeable pop-up boners of high school, but this time you won’t have any books to hide behind. On the plus side, they’ll be serving tacos, alcohol and classical music. There will also be four models and one brave audience member getting nude to be sketched in three poses. Time to step out of the box and have some fun. 6:30–10:30pm. The Astoria, 769 East Hastings St. Suggested donation $5–10. Bring your own sketching supplies. Click here on Facebook for more information.

Tues, April 14

Sister Spit 2015

I initially assumed this was a Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence porno, but I was wrong. This is the famous, rowdy, queer and feminist literary and spoken word performance group From San Francisco, in town for one night only. 7–10:30pm. WISE Hall, 1882 Adanac St. Tickets $13 at the door and at picatic.com/sisterspitvan. Click here on Facebook for more information.

Thurs, April 16

School

Doppelganger presents a new monthly house music night and urges you to bring some confidence, a pocket full of candy, and a nine-inch ruler. If that nine-inch ruler is for measuring what I think it’s going to measure, I’m going to be spending a lot more time at this school than I did at my own. Forget the candy; try a pocket full of Viagra! House music, a mixture of top DJs, Berlin as host and a room full of hot, hopefully nine-inch men! 10pm-3am. Celebrities, 1022 Davie St. Cover TBA. celebritiesnightclub.com

: Man about town scurrying into every bar, restaurant, nook and cranny looking for all the details to post the events you want to see. Drop me a line if you want your GLBT themed event, meeting, social, gathering, play party, circle jerk, listed online or even if you are one short for your orgy. I always aim to please.....unless its your eye...ouch!!!
