Out in Vancouver: April 12–18, 2018

Choice events in the city this week

April 12

Dragon Boating

No experience necessary, but I bet swimming would be an asset. Get out on the water with Sisters in Sync, Vancouver’s dragonboat team for queer women (trans-inclusive). The team is recruiting new paddlers for the summer season. Bring a water bottle, sunglasses and a hat. The team goes out whatever the weather, so make sure you’re dressed for it. They meet on Tuesday and Thursday.

6–7:30pm. Creekside Community Centre, 1 Athletes Way. More info.

Bingo For Life

This is not your granny’s bingo: she would probably need an extra box of Depends to make it through a night like this. With DJ Del Stamp at the helm and rotating drag hostesses like Carlotta Gurl, Alma Bitches and more dropping by, you won’t even remember to dab, dab, dab. All Bingo proceeds go to the Vancouver Friends For Life Society, which helps people living with HIV and other illnesses.

7:30–9pm. XYYVR, 1216 Bute St. Info at Bingo For Life.
