She Said Boom’s world premiere at Hot Docs

Film explores history of Toronto 'queercore' sub-culture

She Said Boom: The Story of Fifth Column will make its world premiere at Toronto’s Hot Docs festival.

The documentary tells the story of Fifth Column, Toronto’s all-female post-punk band, providing an insider’s look at the queer art scene of the 1980s.

“They were a group of women who were forming a band that was different than what was already going on in Toronto,” says Kevin Hegge, the director of She Said Boom.

The film screens on April 27, May 1 and May 4. For more on Hot Docs, click here.

On occasion, the number of editors and other staff who contribute to a story gets a little unwieldy to give a byline to everyone. That’s when we use “Xtra Staff” in place of the usual contributor info. If you would like more information on who contributed to a particular story, please contact us here.
