VIDEO: GSA rally held at Queen’s Park

Activist groups converge ahead of pivotal week

Supporters of the move to allow gay-straight alliances (GSAs) in Ontario Catholic schools held a rally on May 12 at Queen’s Park in Toronto. Called GSA? OK!, the rally attracted a wide variety of labour groups, advocacy associations and activist groups.

”It is your activism that seals the deal on the rights we have and the rights we leave our children,” said Glen Murray, MPP for Toronto Centre.

The rally was held ahead of committee meetings on Bill 13 that are set to continue at Queen’s Park on May 14 and 15. Below is our video coverage of the event.

On occasion, the number of editors and other staff who contribute to a story gets a little unwieldy to give a byline to everyone. That’s when we use “Xtra Staff” in place of the usual contributor info. If you would like more information on who contributed to a particular story, please contact us here.
