Service 101: From the Bottom or the Top

What does it mean to “serve” someone in kinky bedroom play? It doesn’t just mean a girl in a slutty maid’s outfit; anyone can serve, and in a whole variety of ways. Facilitated by Taylor J Mace, a nonbinary, trans sex educator, this workshop on the many kinds of service welcomes people of all genders and sexual orientations. For accessibility info, see indicated Facebook event page.

7:30–10pm. The Nookie, 827 College St. For more info, visit Facebook.

Friday, Oct 20

Arabian Knights LGBTQ

The Middle Eastern dance party is the latest addition to the city’s evolving nightlife. The party, which welcomes people of all backgrounds, features DJ Louay spinning house beats and pop tracks. And tonight there’s a surprise performance (go and see what it is!). The venue is not accessible.

10pm–3am. Club 120, 120 Church St. For more info, visit Facebook.

SOY Bowlathon 18

Grab a team or just grab yourself and throw some balls at this annual bowling fundraiser for Supporting Our Youth (SOY), an organization that runs groups and programs, and throws events for queer and questioning youth between the ages of 14 and 29. See indicated Facebook event page for info on how to register and fundraise.

1–4pm. Bowlerama West – Etobicoke, 5429 Dundas St W. For more info, visit Facebook.

Cherry Bomb

One of the city’s longest-running and most popular parties for queer women (and their allies) welcomes DJ Chiclet to the decks. This veteran’s style blends house, electro and nu disco. Arrive early to play some of the provided games — Jenga, Uno, Cards Against Humanity, and more.

10pm–3am. Round, 152 Augusta Ave. For more info, visit Facebook.

Kiinalik: These Sharp Tools

According to billing, Evalyn Parry and Laakkuluk Williamson Bathory’s performance is “the meeting place of two people, and the north and south of our country.” After meeting in the Arctic, the pair put together a performance — a kind of concert/conversation — that looks at the “histories, culture and climate we’ve inherited, and asks how we reckon with these sharp tools.” The venue is accessible.

Runs until Sunday, Nov 5, various showtimes. Buddies in Bad Times, 12 Alexander St. For more info, visit Facebook.
