Larry Kramer's play about AIDS crisis remounted
The Normal Heart is back at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. Studio 180’s remount of the play, which had a successful run last year, will run again till Nov 18.

The autobiographical play, written by Larry Kramer, explores the early days of the AIDS crisis. It first opened in New York in 1985.

“There is something immediately visceral about The Normal Heart,” says Joel Greenberg, director of Studio 180's production. “And its people are people and not just mouthpieces for the playwright.”

Kramer, a polarizing figure in the AIDS activism and gay rights advocacy communities, continues to ruffle feathers.

Below are excerpts from the 2011 production at Buddies and an interview with Greenberg and actor Ryan Kelly. Following that is an interview with Mark Ruffalo, who talks about his upcoming role in the screen adaptation.
