The US Food and Drug Administration’s advisory council has recommended approving a drug that can treat a lack of sexual desire in women. The so-called “female viagra” has already been rejected twice because of poor effectiveness and numerous side-effects.

Guam to accept same-sex marriages
The US territory of Guam will begin to register same-sex marriages Tuesday, May 9 after a federal judge ruled in favour of a lesbian couple who were denied a marriage licence. Guam’s governor originally argued that making a decision on same-sex marriage was impractical with a US Supreme Court decision on the horizon, but has announced he will uphold the ruling.

When American ambassador Jordan Alice Wells attended a quiet celebration of the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia in Amman, Jordan, he sparked off a national wave of anger against a perceived American effort to force LGBT equality on the country. Some called in national media for the police to deal with the gay problem, apparently unaware that homosexuality is legal in Jordan.
British journalist Richard Littlejohn rants at a modern family
Influential conservative British journalist Richard Littlejohn, known for his borderline obsession with gay people, spent his June 5 column in the Daily Mail ranting at trans people because he finds them confusing. After plucking the example of a particularly complicated family law case involving lesbian parents and a trans stepfather, Littlejohn suggests that children can be harmed by having trans parents, and makes an obligatory jab at Caitlyn Jenner.
